Summer Reading Bingo – Mrs. Buckham
To help your child maintain the reading gains made over the school year, please take a few minutes each day to have him/her read to you. Research shows that all it takes is six appropriately leveled books and he or she is likely to fend off summer reading loss and maintain the reading gains made during the previous school year. If the child reads even more books, eight or ten or twenty, he or she may even gain grounds, and return to school in September a more confident reader. To help you with this endeavor, your child will be bringing home a summer reading Bingo sheet in their report card envelope. This sheet is full of literary activities for your child to work on over the summer months. Thank you for supporting your child’s reading over the summer! Have a great holiday and happy reading!
